Windlip Snowboards Blog

We started Windlip because we are passionate about snowboarding and we thought we could fill a niche.

Snowboarding in general focuses on the youth market and the largest segment of that seems to be freestyle.

One thing that is obviously true is that we all get older!

As riders mature they either leave the sport, which is sad, or they move away from the snow park and gravitate towards free-riding with the emphasis on riding the natural terrain of the mountain.

More mature riders are driven by years of experience; they are probably a more discerning market. Quality becomes more of an issue and performance can outweigh image.

So with this in mind we started to build high quality boards by hand. This gives us the ability to create a true custom board made for an individual rider.

The person who follows this route has complete control of their new board.

A partnership in design and manufacture between the rider (you) and Windlip (us)

We figured that boarders with many years experience know what kind of board they want and we can build it for them!

Welcome to our informal side!

We build a lot of boards with a lot of different designs and we often dont manage to reflect that very well in the main site.

So here on our blog you will find numerous photos and designs of boards that we have made.

You will also find our latest videos, new and articles.

Feel free to comment as we like to get feedback!

Apologies for the lack of posts for Feb, its been busy recently

Here are a couple of the boards that have been occupying our time!

The first is for Mark in the UK, he wanted a J class with a carbon topsheet and a wooden panel in the middle. He was particularly worried that a shiny finished would show scratches so we put a textured surface on to minimize this.
